Jesse Balboa Jr. Memorial FFA Scholarship Hunt
Rules & Regulations
1. All hunters must have a valid Texas hunting license and abide by all Texas Parks and Wildlife regulations
2. All harvests must be strictly by bow and arrow only, no crossbows or firearms
3. Dogs can only be used to track wounded hogs (no bay and shoot)
4. 2 members per team (no substitutions, original members must hunt the whole tournament)
5. At least 1 member over 18 years of age per team
6. Team members are allowed to hunt separately but must hunt the same property at all times; anywhere in Texas.
7. Main contest will be judged on a total weight of the 4 heaviest hogs
8. Only 4 hogs can be brought into the contest (ex. Hog 5 cannot come in for side pot)
9. Teams with less than 4 hogs will be placed according to weight
10. Each hog must have a field photo (with guts) immediately after the kill which includes bow and the special rule in the picture (ex. Special rule may be a field photo with your bow and a limb on the hogs head)
11. Special Rule will be called at the beginning of the tournament and sent via text message to the team captains phone number provided on the entry form
12. All team members must abide by the special rule to enter a hog into the contest. If a field photo including the special rule are not present for any hog brought into the contest, the particular hog in question will not be allowed into the contest
13. Hunters must follow strict registration and check in times
14. At least one team member is required to be present at the weigh in
15. Clock at registration location is considered the official clock
16. All animals must be harvested within the competition hours
17. Registration may be made prior to Thursday March 9, 2017
18. Tournament starts at 6 pm on March 10 (start hunting)
19. Weigh in will be Sunday March 12, 2017 from 12 pm. Any team arriving at the weigh in location after 12 pm on Sunday March 12, 2017 will not be allowed to enter their hogs into the contest or the side pots
20. No trapped hogs, any indication of trapped hogs disqualifies the entire team from entry into the contest
21. No pen raised hogs will be allowed into the competition, hogs must be wild and free ranging
22. No cut boars allowed into the contest
23. Animals will be checked for freshness and harvest method
24. Only hunters entered in the team may hunt
25. Hunters are asked to dispose of the entire teams hogs after weigh in unless Trinity Oaks Donation is available and on weigh in site
26. Directors/organizers have the right to disqualify any team due to suspected cheating etc.
27. All hogs must be field dressed (gutted) prior to weigh in.
